Description
The TBICP is a one-day course that teaches participants the code requirements for installation of adhered thin brick veneer applied to the two most common backing systems – lath and plaster and cement backer board. Installation of the substrate materials as well as the installation of the adhered thin brick will be hands-on part of the learning in addition to proper detailing and layout techniques.
The class is divided into four two-hours segments, with a break for lunch:
- starting with code review
- then hands-on backing system installation
- then detailing and layout techniques
- followed by hands-on thin brick installation

Please Note:
This first presentation is intended to be critiqued by Contractors, quality Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen in addition to premier exterior wall system installers to help flush out the training program and enhance the quality and content of the program. Architects and Engineers are also welcome to attend. Evaluation forms will be required to be submitted from all participants at the end of the program. When finished being developed, this Thin Brick Installation Certification Program is intended to be implemented and managed by various masonry alliances, councils and institutes in various geographic regions throughout the US.
