Description
Webinar presented by Namratha Kondam and Rocky Mountain Masonry Institute (RMMI). A comprehensive understanding of as-built construction and existing conditions is the foundation of engineering analysis for historic and existing masonry structures. Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) techniques offer innovative alternatives to traditional destructive methods, enabling the assessment of subsurface and hidden conditions without causing damage to the structure's integrity. This webinar will explore a range of NDE tools and methods alongside minimally invasive in situ tests that provide critical data with minimal disruption to the existing fabric. Through case studies, we will demonstrate practical applications of these techniques and the interpretation of their outputs. We will also explore how interpreting results often requires integrating data from multiple tools and methodologies. By combining information from various outputs, a more accurate understanding of the structure’s condition can be achieved, enabling informed decisions for its preservation and maintenance.
